Where we work / KwaZulu-Natal

IT outsourcing and managed IT in Durban and the north coast.

Scout Outsource provides IT outsourcing, managed IT support, cloud infrastructure, Microsoft licensing, cybersecurity, voice and connectivity to medium and enterprise businesses across greater Durban and KwaZulu-Natal, concentrated in the northern corridor from Umhlanga and Mount Edgecombe through Cornubia to Ballito, delivered on site and remotely.

Umhlanga Ridge, La Lucia, Mount Edgecombe, Cornubia, Westville and up the coast to Ballito. This is home ground: our registered office is on the north coast, and most of this estate is a short drive rather than a flight.

The districts we work in

Not a catchment drawn on a map. These are the business districts our KwaZulu-Natal clients actually sit in.

  • Umhlanga Ridge
  • La Lucia
  • Mount Edgecombe
  • Cornubia
  • Ballito
  • Westville
  • Hillcrest
  • Kloof
  • Pinetown
  • Riverhorse Valley
  • Springfield Park
  • Dube TradePort

The business moved north

Durban's commercial centre of gravity is no longer the central city. It is Umhlanga Ridge, La Lucia, Mount Edgecombe, Cornubia and Ballito, with Westville and Hillcrest holding the inland side and Pinetown, Riverhorse Valley and Springfield Park carrying the industrial and distribution work. Our coverage follows that corridor, because that is where the buildings, the boards and the server rooms actually are.

This is the home estate

Scout is registered on the north coast. A KwaZulu-Natal client is not a remote account being serviced from a head office in another province, which is the arrangement most national providers quietly offer here. It means shorter attendance times, engineers who know the buildings, and someone you can get in front of without booking a flight for them.

Logistics, manufacturing and the port

KwaZulu-Natal runs on movement: the port, the freight corridor inland, manufacturing in Pinetown and Prospecton, and the aerotropolis at Dube TradePort. That workload is unforgiving about uptime in a way an office estate is not, because a warehouse management system that stops does not inconvenience people, it stops trucks. Connectivity with a real failover path and a tested recovery plan is the piece that matters most here.

Common questions about Durban

Do you provide IT support in Umhlanga?

Yes. Umhlanga Ridge, La Lucia, Mount Edgecombe and Cornubia are the centre of our KwaZulu-Natal delivery area, with on-site attendance and a 24/7 helpdesk behind it.

Do you cover Ballito and the north coast?

Yes. Our registered office is on the north coast, so Ballito, Salt Rock and the surrounding business parks are the closest work we do rather than the furthest.

Do you work in the Durban city centre as well?

We serve all of greater Durban, including the central city, Westville, Pinetown, Riverhorse Valley and Springfield Park. Most of our KwaZulu-Natal clients sit in the northern corridor, which is where the commercial estate has moved, but the delivery area is the whole metro.

Can you support a KwaZulu-Natal business with sites in Gauteng and the Western Cape?

Yes. One contract covers the whole estate across all nine provinces, with one escalation path, so the Johannesburg and Cape Town sites are on the same helpdesk and the same response targets as the ones here.

Where else we work

All nine provinces, five metros.

The rest of the country is delivered the same way, under the same contract, on the same helpdesk.
