Where we work / Free State

IT outsourcing and managed IT in Bloemfontein and the Free State.

Scout Outsource provides IT outsourcing, managed IT support, cloud infrastructure, Microsoft licensing, cybersecurity, voice and connectivity to medium and enterprise businesses in Bloemfontein and across the Free State, including Welkom, Sasolburg, Kroonstad, Bethlehem and Harrismith, delivered on site and remotely.

The Bloemfontein CBD, Westdene, Brandwag, Langenhoven Park and the industrial east end, with Welkom, Sasolburg, Kroonstad, Bethlehem and Harrismith across the province. Long distances, which is a delivery model question before it is a technology one.

The districts we work in

Not a catchment drawn on a map. These are the business districts our Free State clients actually sit in.

  • Bloemfontein CBD
  • Westdene
  • Brandwag
  • Langenhoven Park
  • Bayswater
  • Universitas
  • Hamilton
  • Old East End
  • Welkom
  • Sasolburg
  • Kroonstad

  • Harrismith

In the middle of the country, and connected to less

Bloemfontein sits where the N1 and the N8 cross, roughly halfway between Gauteng and both coasts, which is what makes it a distribution and regional office town. What it does not have is the carrier-neutral data centre density of Gauteng or the coast. The shape that usually works is local compute kept deliberately small, the real workload in a Gauteng or coastal facility, and the line between them treated as the thing that must not fail, with a second path that has actually been failed over rather than ordered.

Courts, government, universities, farms

The Supreme Court of Appeal sits here, along with provincial government, two universities and the administrative weight that comes with all of it, next to an agricultural economy that runs on seasons rather than quarters. Both ends of that care more than most about records retention, access control and being able to show who did what, which is a licensing and security conversation before it is an infrastructure one.

The province is not one city

Welkom is a goldfields town, Sasolburg is petrochemical and effectively part of the Vaal, Harrismith is a logistics stop on the N3 and Bethlehem and Kroonstad are regional agricultural centres. A Free State estate is usually five or six sites spread over hundreds of kilometres, and the only arrangement that is honest about that is remote-first monitoring and support with scheduled on-site work, rather than a promise to drive somewhere every time a printer stops.

Common questions about Bloemfontein

Do you provide IT support in Bloemfontein?

Yes. The Bloemfontein CBD, Westdene, Brandwag, Langenhoven Park, Bayswater, Universitas and the Hamilton and Old East End industrial areas are all inside our normal Free State delivery area, with on-site attendance and a 24/7 helpdesk behind it.

Do you cover Welkom, Sasolburg and the rest of the Free State?

Yes, including Kroonstad, Bethlehem and Harrismith. Sites that far apart are supported remote-first with scheduled on-site work, and the attendance target for each one is agreed when we scope rather than averaged across the province.

Can Bloemfontein be used as a disaster recovery site?

Usually it is the site that needs recovering somewhere else, not the place to put the second copy. Carrier-neutral data centre capacity is concentrated in Gauteng and the coastal metros, so the normal design is replication out of the Free State into one of those, with a tested failover rather than a documented one.

Is the price different out here?

No. The province you are in does not change what you get or what it costs, and the guarantee to beat any Microsoft licensing and voice pricing applies the same way in Welkom as in Sandton.

Where else we work

All nine provinces, five metros.

The rest of the country is delivered the same way, under the same contract, on the same helpdesk.

We'll scope it, quote it, and say plainly if a smaller piece of work would solve the problem instead.
