Licensing & Cloud
Microsoft
Scout Outsource is a Microsoft licensing partner supplying Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, SQL Server and on-premise agreements, with licence optimisation and compliance review included and a guarantee to beat any Microsoft licensing price.
- Microsoft 365
- Azure
- Compliance
Most organisations are not overpaying because the unit price is wrong. They are overpaying because the SKU mix is wrong: enterprise licences on users who need a lower tier, seats still billing for people who left, and overlapping products bought by different departments. We review entitlement against actual consumption first, then quote. One global client's annual Microsoft cost fell 21% on that basis.
What Microsoft does
- Microsoft 365 licensing
- Business and Enterprise plans, including the E3 and E5 decision and whether add-ons achieve the same outcome for less.
- Azure subscriptions and cost management
- Azure consumption under CSP with reserved instance planning and right-sizing of over-provisioned resources.
- Server and on-premise licensing
- Windows Server, SQL Server and client access licences, including the hybrid use rights most organisations already own and never claim.
- Licence optimisation review
- Entitlement measured against actual usage to find unused seats, wrong-tier assignments and duplicate products across departments.
- Compliance and true-up support
- Confirming your position before a renewal or audit, rather than discovering it during one.
Who Microsoft is for
Organisations approaching a Microsoft renewal, businesses whose licensing has grown organically across regions or departments, and anyone who has never had their entitlement checked against actual use.
Common questions
Can you really beat any price on Microsoft licensing?
Yes. Send us your current quote or renewal and we will beat it. The larger saving is usually in the SKU mix rather than the unit price, which is why we review entitlement against consumption before quoting.
What is the difference between Microsoft 365 E3 and E5?
E5 adds advanced security, compliance and analytics (Defender, Purview and Power BI Pro) on top of E3. Many organisations buy E5 for a handful of features that a targeted add-on would deliver far more cheaply on an E3 base.
Do we need a Microsoft partner to buy licences?
No, but buying through a CSP partner normally costs less than buying direct, and it gives you support with licence optimisation, compliance and renewals that you do not get buying online.
