Cybersecurity

Scout Outsource provides managed cybersecurity for medium to enterprise businesses, covering security assessment, platform design and deployment, 24/7 managed detection and response, email and endpoint protection, zero trust network access and immutable backup, delivered across Ironscales, Sophos, Netskope and Druva.

Most breaches do not start with a sophisticated exploit. They start with a convincing email, a misconfigured cloud service or a licence nobody finished deploying. We assess what you already own before recommending anything new, then design the layers around how attacks actually land: email and identity first, then endpoint, network, cloud access and the backup you recover from when something still gets through.

What’s included

Security assessment and gap analysis
A review of your existing controls against the ways intrusions actually begin, prioritised by exposure rather than by product category, including what you already own but have not fully deployed.
Email security and user training
AI-driven protection against phishing and business email compromise, with targeted simulation and training for the users most likely to be caught, deployed without changing your MX records.
Endpoint, server and network protection
Next-generation anti-malware with endpoint detection and response, anti-ransomware, exploit prevention and next-generation firewall, managed from one console.
24/7 managed detection and response
Round-the-clock analysts hunting, investigating and actively responding to threats in your environment. It is the capability most mid-sized businesses have no overnight cover for.
Zero trust and cloud access security
Per-application access to private apps replacing flat-network VPN, with CASB and SaaS posture management to bring shadow IT and configuration drift into view.
Immutable backup and tested recovery
Air-gapped backup that cannot be altered or deleted, with malware scanning, clean recovery points and rehearsed restores. This is the control that decides how a ransomware incident ends.

Who this is for

Organisations with security products they are not confident are configured correctly, businesses facing a client or insurer security questionnaire, and teams with no 24/7 security operations capability of their own.

Common questions

How do most businesses actually get breached?

Through email. Phishing and business email compromise remain the most common entry point, ahead of unpatched systems and misconfigured cloud services. That is why we start with email and identity rather than with the firewall, which is usually the layer organisations have already spent on.

Do we still need managed detection and response if we have antivirus?

Yes, if nobody is watching the alerts overnight. Endpoint protection blocks what it recognises; managed detection and response is the 24/7 analyst capability that investigates what it does not and contains an intrusion before it spreads. Most mid-sized businesses have the first and nobody on the second at 3am.

Can you work with the security products we already own?

Yes, and we look at those first. Most engagements start with an estate that already holds licences which are only partly deployed or left on default settings. Finishing a deployment is almost always faster and cheaper than buying another product.

Why do you carry four security vendors instead of one suite?

Because no single suite is simultaneously the best answer for email, endpoint, cloud access and backup. Carrying several lets us specify against your risk, your budget and the estate you already have. When two products are genuinely equivalent, we say so and let price decide.
